| I am seeking a second term on the Brainerd school board. I am an independent thinker, willing to listen and not get trapped into, this is the way we have always done it mindset. Change is a process not an event as there is no beginning or end to change, however it must be responsible and knee jerk reactions need to be avoided. Issues that I will continue promoting include: > Remain laser-focused on academic excellence and student achievement > Provide the needed supports to maintain productive learning classrooms > Treat everyone with respect, kindness, and compassion > Continue staying vigilant regarding student safety and bullying > Responsible consequences must be applied to disruptive students > Offer extra-curricular activities where boys play in boys’ sports and girls play in girls’ sports based on biological sex at birth > Fiscal responsibility that protects educational integrity without placing unreasonable burdens on the taxpayers, seek efficiencies, and avoid unnecessary expenses > Inquire of families why they chose to leave our district for another one > Spend time on board governance not on staff work; concentrating on the ends not the means |
