| With 25 years in the construction industry I have learned that you do not hid problems, you measure them accurately and fix them. I own a local union HVAC shop, work in taxpayers’ homes, and have four kids in South St. Paul schools. Our district is graduating kids at a high rate while too many are not in class and not proficient in read and math. That is not success. A school board should set expectations, follow Minnesota’s attendance law, and put instructional time back in core academics. I supported the recent bond and levy only after I sat down with the administration, asked where the prior money went, and posted that process publicly. I will bring the same standard to facilities, budgets and curriculum. Taxpayers deserve a plan for deferred maintenance, not another surprise request. I am not a career politician. I negotiate with union labor, manage a business budget, coach and attend youth athletics. If elected I will be transparent, ask hard questions publicly, and work with parents and teachers to raise the floor for every student. |
