| I’m a mom, licensed childcare provider, and current ISD 728 School Board member representing District 1. I believe parents are the experts on their children and deserve a meaningful voice in their education.
During my time on the Board, I have fought for transparency, responsible spending, clear curriculum, safer schools, and stronger parental rights. I supported a library policy that gives parents greater control and ensures the elected School Board has final accountability. I also pushed for special board meetings to be recorded so the public can see how decisions are made. My priorities are getting our schools back to the basics, reducing routine screen use in the elementary grades, strengthening reading, writing, and math, protecting fairness in girls’ sports and privacy in spaces such as bathrooms and locker rooms, and giving parents better access to what their children are learning. I have also been willing to stand alone when necessary. When cuts were proposed to our Safety and Prevention team, I was the only Board member who did not support them. Our children are precious, and parents should feel confident sending them to school knowing their safety is a top priority. I will continue asking difficult questions, standing firm in my values, and putting students and families first. |
