| I have decided to run for a second term on the ISD 31 Bemidji School Board because we have a good trajectory happening in the following areas: 1. Academic trajectory of the district is on the increase – this is a direct result of school board goals set this past 4 years. Graduation rates among all students are up 9% and 16.9% among Native Americans. 2. Fiscal responsibility – we will reach the goal of eliminating an operating deficit in 2027. 3. Enrollment – confidence in public education is waning but my goal is to make public education competitive and win back the confidence of parents. I do not believe the public school system should replace parents. It should only assist parents by providing quality education. 4. Unity – we introduced the pledge of allegiance because it is a great way to bring us together in public forum. 5. My granddaughter has once again paid my $2.00 filing fee. She asked if it was okay to give me 8 quarters as payment. I count it a privilege to be on the school board to represent her, her siblings and her parents. |
